It is important to educate the young people. Children understand easily, adults have to be more convinced. But now the problem is so heavy as fresh clean water is essential that towns and communities are more interested too what artists are doing. They understand that artistic work might give different views, is more effective for young children to learn and the approach is often more delicate more playful, but still very serious. So my message is to change little by little perception of my public.
Natures Urbaines", Fontenay s. Bois, Paris suburb, France 2002. 80 maple trees painted with red natural earth lime based.
« Forêt Surprise »(Natures Urbaines, Fontenay sous Bois, Parc de l´Hôtel de Ville, Paris, 2002)
(80 maple trees, lime based burnt terra di Siena color, approx.
8000m² Park)
In my work “Forêt Surprise” for “Natures Urbaines” at
Fontenay near Paris
I looked at the City Hall park with the eyes of a child. I covered the natural
color of the tree trunks (green, gray, not truly brown) with red earth pigment.
They took on a different look – new and rounder. Children use this red-brown
color when they want to paint trees. The trees form new spaces in the park and
turn into art objects. The pigment is based on lime and has the added advantage
that it protects the park tree from the burning sun and pests. The red earth
changes our everyday visual experience. The city inhabitants are prompted to
see a tree with fresh eyes. The parc looked like a cathedral, very spiritual.

My wind objects, ROYAL PAIR, are adapted to the North Hessian Landscape. They are situated amongst windmills that now overpower the old hilly land. A pair of gossamer white gowns float out in the wind on a wide open summit plain that is towered over by wind turbines. This 'Royal Pair' dance in the wind. In ancient times the kings of the Saxons and the Franks met in this region to dominate the land. My objects refer to these events, therefore the sizes are slightly different and yet almost the same. The forms blow with wind showing their full dimension, glory and power.
Size: 4m long, diameter 0,90m and 0,80m. Materials are gilded wire, tulle fabric and the wind.

"Desert Star" made for the Palmer Sculpture Biennial March 2010. Size is 130m x 75m and of red and yellow sand around a mountain peak. This is a space and colour concept. The colours are perfectly adapted to the pinkish granite peak of this mountain.
