The annual LINES in the SAND arts festival held on North Stradbroke Island, South East Queensland, Australia, taps into the power and energy of a global movement to make art that celebrates the environment. LINES in the SAND defines its own style of environmentally sustainable art, incorporating Aboriginal cultural forms with community input, children's creativity and spontaneous happenings. In addition to the ephemeral art works, the festival embraces sound, conversations and digital technologies. I 2013, the festival will run from June 29 - July 1, but the artist residencies will run for the week prior to that. While the festival takes a public platform, the residency is a wonderful opportunity for peer interaction and sharing. Please see the attached application form.
